THE GOLD TOUR
The Eastern Desert witnessed different cultures over many centuries. It was important for mining valuable resources like gold and emeralds. Romans, Ptolemaic people and ancient Egyptians left their tracks all over the area.
During the tour you will be provided with full information about the historical background.
Our car will take you to the village of Umm Howaytat. There, gold was separated from ordinary stone and prepared for further trading. Its overall structure is well seen from above at a hill nearby.
